Our mushrooms grow outdoors on hardwood logs and totems. Follow the mushroom yard from inoculation through seasonal harvests.

Hardwood, spawn, shade, and time.
We use two outdoor log-culture methods so each mushroom can grow on the system that suits it best.
Drill & Fill
Fresh hardwood bolts are drilled in a staggered pattern, inoculated with spawn, sealed with food-grade wax, and stacked in the woodland while the fungus colonizes the wood.
Totem Culture
Short, substantial hardwood sections are stacked into three-part totems with spawn between the interfaces. The upright system is especially useful for specialty species such as Lion’s Mane.
Seasonal harvests
Fruit when the woodland says it is time.
Outdoor log culture produces mushrooms in flushes as temperature and moisture conditions become favorable. Each harvest can be traced back through its strain, production batch, and individual producing logs.
