Understanding our lumber
Specialty or standard?
Specialty lumber is an exact physical piece such as a slab, mantel, post, beam, or bookmatched set. Standard lumber is purchased by specification and board-foot quantity, with the actual boards allocated during fulfillment.
Rough or prepared?
Rough-sawn material keeps the mill surface. Where dimensions fit our equipment, lumber may also be planed to thickness or jointed and planed. Oversize pieces can still be supplied rough.
Drying & reservations
Unique pieces may become reservable while drying. Ready pieces can be purchased directly. A material change during drying triggers review before final payment.
What is a board foot?
A board foot measures lumber volume. Customers shopping standard stock can choose the quantity they need without calculating individual-board volume themselves.
Provenance
Where records are available, lumber remains connected to its wood profile, source tree or log, milling event, drying history, inventory record, and final sale.
